Mixing Tips
Hello and welcome! Let me first start with a general equation. mg per ml = strength / bottle size mg per ml = well you guessed it, how much mg per ml there is in any given bottle size that you use in the equation strength = the nic content of the fliuid you are using to mix with (12, 18, 24, 36 etc) Bottle size = the number of ml in your bottle. In this section I'm going to break down how to cut your 36mg liquid to your desired strength. First the assumptions! You are using a 15ml bottle, and you are using 36mg nic liquid. By using the Above equation you have x = 36 / 15 x= 2.4 For every 1ml of 36mg liquid you put into a 15ml bottle you will add an over all 2.4mg of Nic. Pretty simple huh? Below I have broken out a 15 ml bottle with 36mg strength for you at all levels. With a 15ml bottle: 1ml of 36 mg nic liquid mixed with 14ml of filler material (VG, PG, Flavoring)in a 15ml bottle will give you overall a 2.4mg liquid, so here are common strengths listed out: 2.4mg (1ml 36mg nic + 14ml of PG, VG, flavoring) 4.8mg (2ml 36mg nic + 13ml of PG, VG, flavoring) 7.2mg (3ml 36mg nic + 12ml of PG, VG, flavoring) 9.6mg (4ml 36mg nic + 11ml of PG, VG, flavoring) 12 mg (5ml 36mg nic + 10ml of PG, VG, flavoring) 14.4 mg (6ml 36mg nic + 9ml of PG, VG, flavoring) 16.8 mg (7ml 36mg nic + 8ml of PG, VG, flavoring) 19.2 mg (8ml 36mg nic + 7ml of PG, VG, flavoring) 21.6 mg (9ml 36mg nic + 6ml of PG, VG, flavoring) 24 mg (10ml 36mg nic + 5ml of PG, VG, flavoring) 26.4 mg (11ml 36mg nic + 4ml of PG, VG, flavoring) 28.8 mg (12ml 36mg nic + 3ml of PG, VG, flavoring) 31.2 mg (13ml 36mg nic + 2ml of PG, VG, flavoring) 33.6 mg (14ml 36mg nic + 1ml of PG, VG, flavoring) 36 mg (15ml 36mg nic + 0ml of PG, VG, flavoring) Now I would recommend that you should start (when premixing at first) with one of two recipies: 1) Lightweights (you like low nic) (15ml bottle) 4ml of 36mg nic liquid + 7ml of PG or VG your choice + 4ml of Flavoring (not lorann's, but the water based off here) That's a 9.6mg liquid that should taste good. 2.) Medium to Heavy (higher nic)(15ml bottle) 10ml of 36 mg nic liquid + 5 ml of flavoring That's a 24mg liquid that should taste good! Remember you can change up the percentages, add a little purified water if it's too thick, add PG or VG if it's too strong, add some more flavoring or less. That is the whole point of DIY to get something you like!!!!! Hopefully this chart will allow you to easily know how to cut your nic liquid from now on! |
